steppin' out weekend!

Last night Mikey and I Stepped Out for drinks with some friends while Natalie slept soundly under the care of a baby-sitter. We've been feeling quite proud of ourselves lately for getting out and doing stuff on the weekends as a couple, it's been a great way to celebrate surviving our first year as parents.

We snapped a couple of photos before heading out the door to hear a co-worker's band, scarf down chicken nachos, and laugh our faces off.

This was my first time ever wearing leopard print, and I think I ultimately decided that it was a good choice. For $3 on a TJ Maxx sale rack, I would consider it a va-voom steal.

Today our little family headed to a gorgeous beachfront home in Owl's Head for a college alumni meet and greet. I know that this may surprise many of you who went to Elmira with me and Mike... but Mike is actually the one who decided we should go to this shindig. I was floored. But I figured this was our big chance to finally get our beautiful babe into the Campus Alumni magazine, so we donned our college colors and went for it. It ended up being a really nice time with yummy food and such sweet hosts. We caught up with some old acquaintances and met a bunch of other Maine alums. Natalie wowed with her cuteness, of course.

On Mama:

Dress: JCP sale rack
Shoes: TJ Maxx
Cardigan: NY&Co, years ago
Sunglasses: Steve Madden

On the budgie:

Undershirt & pants: Carter's
Sundress: Wal-Mart
Jacket: Gap, thrifted
Shoes: Teeny Toes

Yup, that was our view as we snacked on lobster newberg and drank local wine. Not too shabby.

Check out everyone else who is also linking up over at Harper's Happenings for Steppin' Out Saturday!
