When I was pregnant, and when Natalie was first born, I had visions of a snuggly, cuddly baby who would want to curl right up with Mommy. Instead, I got a squirmy, independent budgie who generally would rather be playing and exploring and getting into mischief than curled up tight with me.
Sometime in the last month, that has changed. The snuggly moments are still on the rarer side, but at some point Natalie started hugging back, and reaching out, and leaning in for purposeful periods of warmth and comfort.
This morning before her nap we had a lengthy cuddle on the couch with nothing, not even books or lullabies, distracting us. Well, except the camera:

ReplyDeletei kinda thought natalie would NEVER want to snuggle... seriously, all my dreams of a sweet little cuddly baby were completely shattered. now? she's totally hugging me back and it is the sweetest thing i have ever experienced!
oh, and sylvie said mama?! uh-mazing.
.... snuggles are the best! Just wait until they are accompanied by,"I Love you Mama". It gets me every time!
