the kid is a serious eater

Finger foods have gotten a bit messier lately. Here's the budgie showing off some major Natittude as she chows down on her minestrone:

The minestrone was super easy to make--saute some garlic, onions, and carrots in a bit of olive oil and tomato paste, then add chicken stock and a bite-sized pasta (we used mini shells) and bring to a boil for about 10 minutes. Toss in some green beans and peas, and continue boiling for a couple of minutes. I've continued to be super nervous about the potential for Natalie to choke on her finger foods, so I gave the final product a little mash before giving it to her. She's been gobbling it up for a couple of days now, and it's been hilarious to see her so covered in greasy tomato residue.
