christmas eve in moohooville

Pretty soon here I'm going to give you all the lowdown on the frustrating mess that was Christmas morning with Natalie, but for now I'm just going to share the delight that was Christmas Eve.  We packed up the Libby and drove up to my parents' house in time for lunch & Natalie's nap, and enjoyed an afternoon full of Christmas sillies and excitement.  Natalie was a peach throughout the children's church service we attended, my parents busted their butts to make a full turkey dinner with all the trimmings, I drank gin with my sister, and we all did our fair share of dancing around to Christmas music before Natalie's bathtime (including Natalie, who showed off her impressive galloping and twirling skills--video to follow sometime soon!).  Here are a few pictures (okay, a LOT of pictures) of our Christmas Eve:

One of many attempts to get a decent shot of all 3 of us.  None were any better than this one.

Natalie's bathtime is always super fun at Nana and Poppy's, because they have this ginormous tub that is just made for overzealous splashing.  Natalie is really into drinking her bath water lately, which is so incredibly gross, but we can't seem to stop it.  She giggles uncontrollably when we try to tell her it's yucky, and she must guzzle down a full 6 ounces or so a night.  YUCK.

She's also patented her own "grouchy face," which I have been trying in vain to photograph for days.  We did our best to get some shots during her bath, but this one above isn't even really the full-on grouch.  I'll keep working on it.

Some night-night snuggles from Nana and Poppy before tucking in for a (almost totally sleepless) night.

More on the screaming fest that was Christmas Eve night & the 4:30am wake-up call on Christmas morning & the cranky toddler who nearly ruined our day.

  1. I feel your pain about getting a good family pic. I laugh at people who try and try to get my twins' attention, I've accepted the fact that the four of us will not be looking at the camera at the same time.

  2. I am so glad my kid isn't the only bath-water-drinker. I am also disgusted and she laughs at me when I tell her to stop. THAT TUB IS GLORIOUS LOOKING! :)
