steppin' out saturday: 06.04.11

Yesterday was one of those real summer Saturdays that we dreamt about all winter long. It was sunny and warm, but not uncomfortably hot. We spent our day at the beach, came home for family naptime, and then Stepped Out to the playground and a takeout sushi picnic.

Here is what we wore:

On Mama:

Dress: gifted--tag says Evan Picone (The last time I wore this little number was approximately 4 days before I got pregnant with the Natifuss. It felt ah-mazing to slide that zipper up so easily. Finally!)
Cardigan: NY&Co.
Flip-Flops: apostrophe, Macy's
Sunglasses: Steve Madden, obvsss

On the budgie:

Onesie: gifted RayGun
Sweater: gifted koala kids
Tutu skirt: Wal-Mart
Sandals: Teeny Toes, Payless

Our little picnic by the water was just about perfect. Natalie tried her first seaweed salad, gyoza, and some (cooked) sushi. She waved at people walking by, pointed at the "daws," and happily hung out while we ate. It felt like a little bit of magic.

When we got home it was time for stories, a little Elmo's World, and bedtime for the Natifuster, and then some snuggles on the couch, instant Netflix, and an early bedtime for us grown-ups. Delightful.

Linking up with Harper's Happenings for SOS, as usual!

Also! Tomorrow I'll have a guest post as part of my all-new Manly Monday feature on the blog--check it out and let me know if you'd like to link up.

  1. Pretty girls! I love the bright colors and Nat's skirt is adorable! Putting on clothes and having them fit again is the best feeling!
