Sorry for the paucity of blog posts this week. Natalie's been battling a cold and ear infection that have come with a high fever.
In case you didn't know, a miserable, feverish baby looks like this:
We're all pretty worn out after a string of sleepless nights and super-clingy days. When the budgie is sick, as I'm sure is true of most sick babies, it means lots of cuddling. Nothing seems to do the trick to make her feel better more than curling up in our arms. It's so sweet, actually, but it is exhausting and makes for pretty unproductive days. Also? It makes for some super sore arms from continuously lugging her 22+ pound body around.
Despite being sick, Natalie is still learning new things and developing new skills. Just in the past couple of days she's gone beyond walking 1 or 2 tentative steps at a time to walking several steps when a pair of arms is waiting to catch her. Mikey and I have spent a lot of time sitting across the room from each other and sending her lurching wildly between us. It's hilarious and awesome.
I'm going to do my best to get back in the blogging game a bit today, assuming Natalie isn't attached to my body like a baby koala bear.
