carrots: round one

Natalie tried her first grown-up food this morning (that rice cereal doesn't count as people-food): Carrots!

Here are some pictures of our mashed carrot adventure, about which Mikey and I were super excited and Natalie was entirely unenthused.

The yummy carrots from our local farm share, steaming away:

Excited to be mashing them up in the handmill:

Poor, unsuspecting Natalie:

Taking her first bite:

Not sure what to think about this new taste....

Deciding it does NOT taste good:

Starting to express her displeasure over the whole experience:

Seriously questioning the need to eat more...

And, ultimately, deciding that screaming bloody murder is the best way to make the carrot force-feeding stop:

We'll be going in for Carrots: Round Two tomorrow.

  1. oh my LANDS she's too cute. Seriously. STOP. I love her. Also? Carrots aren't so bad, sweetie. Give them a try for your mommy & daddy. They're trying SO hard! :)

  3. ya know...not that i'm an expert in baby food, but i am an expert in my own dislike for carrots. however, i love them when mashed with sweet potato, and perhaps a little cinnamon or nutmeg.

    what do you think?
