steppin' out saturday: polar dip edition

On Mama:  Leggings:  Target // Boots:  TJ Maxx // Gray tank:  Target // Turtleneck:  H&M // Vest:  Gifted, forever ago // Scarf:  Mace's, local

On the budgie:  Jeggings:  Children's Place // Boots:  a Reny's steal // Coat:  Penney's

We stepped out early this morning to cheer on some friends at a local Polar Dip fundraiser, which raised money for an amazing Semester-at-Sea opportunity for the lovely daughter of one of those friends.  I was absolutely not brave enough to jump in the sub-40-degree Atlantic  Ocean myself, but I was totally down with drinking coffee and eating cinnamon buns on the beach to start my weekend.  Plus, it turned out to be a balmy 45 degree day, which makes a much better air than water temperature.

(I was at least mildly helpful by pitching in as a blanket buddy for a dipper)

  1. i am sitting her drinking my coffee, and this post still made me shiver. those are so brave souls, and i don't think i could do it!

my husband and his wife are marathon runners, and before each race they take ice baths. just thinking about doing that myself makes my teeth clench.

  2. This is absolutely fascinating to me!!! I'm not sure anyone in Louisiana would ever have the courage to do this! You girls look beautiful, by the way. How sweet you are to be a blanket buddy!
