I usually keep my professional life off the blog. It's just good sense, ya know. It's not like I'm Dooce or anything, but writing all about your worklife on a personal blog has never struck me as a particularly wise move.

But today I'm breaking my rule. Because there is a contest going on that is raising money for the kids I work with. Kids in Midcoast Maine. Kids who survive and thrive despite pesky little things like poverty and family drug abuse and sky-high local teen pregnancy rates. Right now there is a big fundraiser going on to raise money for after-school programming for those kids. * The big prize is a dream vacation to Midcoast Maine, valued at over $6,000
* Raffle tickets are $50 apiece
* Only 500 total tickets will be sold, so the odds of winning are pretty darn good
