winter magic!

Many friends and loyal readers have not-so-delicately told me that I have become lazy in my blog-updating and need to get on the ball. My response is that being roughly the size of an overstuffed armchair leaves me little time for blogging; I am far too busy eating and sitting on the couch with my feet up.

This is the latest belly photo, of me at 25 weeks. Tomorrow I'll have reached the 26 week mark, and I'll literally be a few days away from my third trimester. Yikes!

Aside from eagerly counting the days left until March 18th (99!), Mikey and I have been busy getting into the holiday spirit around the house. We've put up our tree, begun wrapping Christmas presents, started watching our favorite holiday movies, and I've had my favorite Christmas song ("I want a hippopotamus for Christmas") on repeat for days. We've finally had our first snowfall, so it really feels like winter magic is here!!

Today Mike was lucky enough to have a snow day, and I got to come home early from work as well due to the bad weather. Having random time just to ourselves has become increasingly important as we start looking ahead to a future of "and baby makes three." Afternoons like this, where we camp out on the couch eating clementines, drinking herbal tea, watching old LOST episodes, and playing footsie with no outside responsibilities are about to become rare things of the past. I'll take them where I can get them!

In baby girl alien news, our little hoo is now the size of an eggplant! She's continuing to fatten up and becoming incredibly active. Most mornings I wake up to what feels like jumping jacks in my uterus, which only become stronger when Mike has an AM conversation with my belly. She really responds to his voice, saving her most forceful kicks and rolls for when he's watching.

I'll do my best to post more frequently! Hope all of you are enjoying some winter magic of your own. :)
