that's one big onion

This week our little fetus is approximately 5 inches long, or supposedly about the size of a large onion. I've never seen an onion that is 5 inches in size, but I guess it's kind of a fun comparison.

The baby has all of its major organs, fingers, toes, facial features, and is covered in hair. It's definitely weird to imagine a little hairy creature making a home in my body. I haven't felt him or her move yet, but I should sometime in the next couple of weeks.

I am continuing to get bigger by the day, it's like my body has suddenly gone into growth overdrive. Every so often Mike will look at me and get wide-eyed and say, "Wow, you're really pregnant..." so I guess it's starting to seem a bit more real now that he can see it happening. Below is the latest picture of my expanding body.



It's been a tough week because I've been suffering from a nasty cold, and since I'm pregnant I'm not able to take much to make myself feel better. Plain old sudafed didn't do much to alleviate my cold symptoms, so I was stuck just dealing with it. Luckily Mike was a great nursemaid and took fabulous care of me while I was under the weather. Here's hoping that's it for feeling sick this winter...
